In his speech, President Guo Lei said on behalf of the Academy, he sincerely thanked everyone for their candid exchanges and sharing of their own experiences in running dance majors. The core of this forum is that our dance academies and universities should be clear about their missions and responsibilities, give full play to the role of dance in its positive impact on people and society, focus on disciplinary development as a priority, continuously consolidate the foundation of disciplines, and press ahead with reform led by disciplines with unique characteristics. He said that in developing dance education, different academies and universities have leveraged rich regional dance resources in exploring curriculum system and pedagogical approaches with unique characteristics. We should continue to follow this approach in finding our own unique identity, and give priority to the all-round development of students with a new model of talent training well adapted to the needs of the future society.

At the beginning of the sub-forum, Vice President Deng Youling mentioned the original intention of holding the Dance Directors’ Round-table on Disciplinary Development and Future of Dance Education. She hoped that BDA, together with the executives of dance departments and academies across China, with their shared mission to train talents for the benefit of the people and the country, could pool their strengths and wisdom in creating synergy in dance education. As the national 13th Five-Year Plan draws to a close, and against the background of developing double first-rate universities, different academies and universities shall work together in making the top design of the disciplinary system of dance, and give suggestions to the development of dance disciplines in promoting China's higher dance education.
Speaking with enthusiasm at the forum, representatives of various academies and universities showed their willingness to serve as the main player in promoting disciplinary development, and shared their thinking on China’s dance disciplinary development and effective education practices in future in various aspects, such as cementing disciplinary foundation, developing unique characteristics, and forming an effective system.
